SDGs Through Arts

• SDGs through Arts’ is a global, socially driven arts initiative dedicated to addressing the SDGs by engaging with local artists. Its primary aim is to Educate, Engage and Raise awareness on local and global issues. At ZeeArts, we are staunch advocates of the SDGs. We strongly believe that Art is a paramount catalyst for social change and is a medium to empower society and bring about a positive impact, in line with Agenda 2030. Art and Culture bring to light the truths and injustices around us. As an organization who promotes arts and culture, we have a duty to address these issues by embracing and championing the SDGs. We are local ambassadors of the SDGs making a global impact.

In the midst of the pandemic in 2020, the United Nations in the UAE and ZeeArtsdeveloped a pilot advocacy program to raise awareness on the Sustainable Development Goals, through a lens of inclusion and empowerment, by engaging with artists and the private sector to Support, Sustain, and Shape a better world by 2030. SDGs through Arts is also a statement sparked by global economic, social, cultural, and creativity crisis. Lockdown measures have weakened many sectors and brought down productivity. Despite the unwelcomed ramifications, Art has survived. Art is resilient and remains a universal language that connects people.

SDGs Through Arts will continue to spearhead not only raising awareness about Agenda 2030, but also creating opportunities for artists to share their vision as well as contribute to the sustainability agenda and ensure inclusion through the creative sector. The SDGs through Arts, foster cultural exchanges and cross-border understanding, all of which play a pivotal role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
