Organisatie Omschrijving
We are
Van Hall Larenstein is a unique university of applied sciences. Our mission is to train high-quality, ambitious and innovative BSc and MSc professionals who contribute to a more sustainable world. In our Applied Research Centres we practically contribute to societal relevant sustainability issues in the Green and Blue domain
Zo dragen wij bij aan de SDG's
We wish to accomplish this by cooperating in a pleasant and yet productive way with each other and with our network partners. These two ambitions have been translated into the way we have outlined our education, applied research and the organisation. The curricula of VHL University of Applied Science focus on the domains Delta Areas and resources, Food and Dairy, Animals and Business.
We work from two locations in the Netherlands: Leeuwarden and Velp.
Impact achievedWe have an SDG Institutional strategic paragraph with a selection of SDG priorities since mid 2017 and stretches to 2021. The Applied Research Centres have adopted an SDG policy. The ambition for 2019 is to translate the the SDGs into curriculum adaptations for sustainability.
The SDG Implementation Manual that has been tested with 4 organisation in the vicinity of VHL claims to bring feasible SDG adaptations at middle management level of Small and Medium Entreprises. The SDG Demonstrator will become available early December 2018.
We are researching the Transformational Competences needed to face the SDG complexity challenge and work around the so-called silo-challenge of solution segmentation. Effort to describe and develop these Transformational competences has been made but fundamental and deeper research (with funding) is essential to make progress with impact on these Transformational Competences.
