The online exhibition “HABITAT: Embracing Change in the Post-2030 Future” demonstrates how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be achieved by 2030 and what needs to happen beyond that milestone. This exhibition is based on the 2017 award-winning Thames & Hudson publication Habitat: Vernacular Architecture for a Changing Planet.
The exhibition features the sustainability-related work of 17 multidisciplinary experts from 12 countries. They share stories from their regions, demonstrating how they can be applied in a global context and give recommendations about how the SDGs can be a vital part of a prosperous future for the planet and its people beyond 2030. The exhibition also explores aspects of adaptation of traditional knowledge, technologies, cultures, and indigenous peoples around the world, demonstrating what they can teach us about creating a more sustainable and resilient future.
This session held during The Festival of the New European Bauhaus will focus on pressing topics on “New habitats for the post-2030 future” in the context of the New European Bauhaus core values: sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion.
